About Milano Gymnastics
Milan: Tradition and innovation in the world of gymnastics
Founding and development
Milano was founded in 1991 as a family business, driven by a passion for gymnastics and creative marketing. Its breakthrough came in 1996 when Milano became a sponsor of the British Gymnastics Team. Since then, Milano has become a household name and a significant influence in the gymnastics industry.
New era under Signature Fabrics
A new chapter began in October 2019 when Milano was acquired by Signature Fabrics, an expert in technical sports fabrics and digital printing technology. The new owners embarked on comprehensive modernizations in every area of the company. In just a few months, despite COVID-19 restrictions, Milano achieved impressive developments: a new website, a factory outlet, a brand-new entry-level leotard collection, a network of European distribution partners, and a complete overhaul of its accounting and IT systems.
our mission
At Milano, our goal is to produce the most exciting, highest-quality leotards. We offer a comprehensive selection that covers all ability and price ranges. We never forget our environmental, ethical, and sustainable responsibilities. This applies to the fabrics we use, the crystals we use for embellishment, and the quality of the inks, dyes, and foils in our manufacturing processes. As a proud British manufacturer, we adhere to all labor standards, including wages and working conditions.
Ethics policy
All our leotards are manufactured in our own factory in the Northwest of England. We do not employ anyone who is unfit for work. All our employees are paid according to standards that meet or exceed the requirements of UK law.
environmental policy
We produce our leotards with careful consideration of every component used. Wherever possible, we use Italian Lycra fabrics. The inks in our prints are water-based to avoid pollutant emissions and toxic effects. We now exclusively use high-quality triple "AAA" glass crystal rhinestones to reduce the environmental impact of conventionally used plastic rhinestones.
